Connecticut is the third smallest state in the U.S. An attribute often looked over because of the states rich history in literature. It was the birthplace of Mark Twain after all. The size of the state did not prevent it from being a force in the golfing community either. It is as serious here as anywhere else in the country however. There are well over 200 courses to choose form. Some of these include the Fairchild-Wheeler Golf Course (aka the Black Course), the Gillette Ridge Golf Course designed by the Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay combination and the Stanwich Golf Course, designed by William Gordon of the ASGCA. With such attractions available, everyone from the golf enthusiast to those just looking for some fun on the greens has the opportunity to enjoy what the nutmeg state has to offer, albeit with a more rounded nutmeg, that also happens to be quite a bit harder.
